Born in 1969, Madeleine studied Fine Art and Illustration at Camberwell College of Art, London, and has achieved great success in both fields. Her illustrations, watercolours and paintings are well known and have been published and collected around the world. She works from her studio in London and has become one of Britain's best loved artists.
Madeleine's paintings are both evocative figurative works and enigmatic abstract pieces. Her illustrations are informed by a strong draughtsmanship that captures the essence and emotion of the subjects she chooses. She has published two children's books 'Captain's Purr' and 'Cold Paws' (both published by Walker Books) and her latest book 'Bird Song' (published by the National Trust) has just been launched and is now available through the gallery.
Public Commissions are numerous and a stationery shop in the Rue de Faubourg St Honore, Paris, once dedicated an entire shop window to her cards and prints. View Madeleine Floyd's latest press news.
