Born in Lancashire in 1963, Kitty is a painter of landscapes and people. Working out of her Yorkshire studio, she is surrounded by the hills and landscapes that feature again and again in many of her paintings.
Andrew Lambirth writes, "Art is Kitty North's language, her means of making sense of the world. Her love of paint and the process of painting are central to her life. [She] is something of a nature poet, in tune with the season, aware of the land as a living thing with its own patterns and cycles".
Kitty's work is in many public and private collections including Blackrock (Merrill Lynch) London, Chatsworth House and Harewood House. Countless solo exhibitions include one at Abbott Hall Art Gallery, Kendal in 1998 and 'Life on the Land' at the Arts Club, London in 2006.
