charles hadcock
Charles's sculptures are seen by thousands of people daily at various sites including Brighton Beach, Sussex and in London's Shoe Lane, Chiswick and Holland Park. He was a student at the Royal College of Art, London and has been working as a sculptor for 20 years. When looking at his sculpture (both monumental and small), maquettes, drawings and prints it is interesting to consider his sources and influences: iron, alchemy, the natural world, geology, music, mathematics, poetry, architecture, engineering. His sculptures are produced using traditional industrial processes.
His drawings are about movement and the economy of line. Not all drawings work (the success rate is low) and a significant few are translated into screen prints. Charles has a studio in Preston.
