Ben's grandfather and great-grandfather both set up photography studios in Baker Street, London so he follows a family tradition.
He runs his company, Island Images, from his studio on the Isle of Wight and is best known for his signature black & white and sepia marine images that are often achieved from micro lights and at great risk. Since relocating to the island 10 years ago, he has diversified in to motor racing, equine and shooting photography. His Shell series shown in The Billiard Room started as a private commission and has developed into his latest project. The shells are sourced from around the world and then photographed using very soft light in the studio.
Ben also undertakes commercial commissions for advertising, architectural and design clients and is represented in London by Getty Images and Corbis.
